Set in a grove of 80-year-old trees, the retreat in a new master-planned community by Healdsburg’s town plaza, includes parking in an underground garage
Location: Healdsburg, California
Price: $8.6 million
Designed by acclaimed Seattle-based architectural firm Olson Kundig, this full-floor penthouse is part of the first phase of a new mixed-use planned community near the historic town plaza of Healdsburg in Sonoma County wine country.
“There is nothing quite like this north of the Golden Gate Bridge, no new construction like this,” said listing agent Mike Brennan, of SagePoint Real Estate Company. “Nothing like it has been built here.”
Penthouse C401 is in one of three new buildings designed by Olson Kundig in a 43-unit condo complex known as Canopy, said Brennan, who is also director of sales at Replay Destination, the developer. “This is one of their first multi-family projects,” he said.
The three buildings are linked by a large underground parking garage, and the unit comes with two allotted spaces, he said.
“Underground parking is something that doesn’t exist here,” Brennan said. The garage is set up so that every car could be an electric vehicle—”the infrastructure is there.”
Canopy is part of the Mill District neighborhood, a new $500 million 10-acre master-planned community, he said. This first phase also includes a high-end boutique hotel, which will begin construction in the spring, as well as an amenity building for condo residents. There will be two more phases over the next four to six years.
“This really is about proximity to town—the real amenity is the town,” Brennan said. “It’s two blocks to downtown, a five-minute walk to Michelin-starred restaurants, tasting rooms, every restaurant. Everything is within a 10-minute walk.”
From the fourth-floor condo, the views are particularly good, said Rachel Turner, managing director of Polaris Pacific, the co-listing agency.
“With this penthouse, you have it all. From your living room, you can see the sun rise and set and you’re seeing these beautiful mature redwood trees. It’s so serene to have that view with all the redwoods,” she said.A private elevator opens to double front doors, then an entry hallway, with a sliding glass wall that opens onto the 2,000-square-foot wraparound terrace, Brennan said. “Every room has access to the outdoors.”
