Eric Peterson | Vice President, Development, Scottsdale
Eric began his professional career in public accounting and has spent more than fifteen years in real estate development throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Working with diverse groups of stakeholders, he has been involved in the full development lifecycle completing several high-profile projects in some of the most challenging resort markets in the west.
His real estate experience began in project accounting and has moved through various roles in finance and project management. Most recently, Eric has worked on building up and leading project teams and as project executive has been focused on management of risk, deal structuring, public outreach, and managing relationships with investors and other project stakeholders.
Working with several premiere development firms in the west, including a prior engagement with Replay, Eric has been able to partner with most major hotel brands in the development of a wide range of property types across the United States and Canada. In the last 12 years he has been directly involved in the opening of more than 15 hotels which represent over 2,000 guest rooms, many as a part of complex, multi-use developments which include, commercial, multifamily, food and beverage, and luxury for-sale residences. Some of these projects include the St. Regis Resort & Residences in Deer Valley, Utah; Marriott SpringHill Suites in Jackson Hole, Wyoming; Marriott Courtyard in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada; Hyatt House Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota; YotelPAD at Canyons Resort, Utah; and most recently the Asher Adams Marriott Autograph Collection in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, a project which included the complete renovation of the 110 year-old Union Pacific Train Station, a landmark registered on the National Registry of Historic Places.
Eric’s academic credentials include a BS in Accounting from Brigham Young University – Idaho, and an MBA from the University of Utah Eccles School of Business.
Eric enjoys playing the piano, cooking, coaching little league, reading good books, and spending time outdoors—especially while watching his kids play in youth sports. He lives with his wife and four kids in Phoenix Arizona.
